Fair Use Policy

Last updated: March 27, 2026

1. Purpose

VivoSign provides a free Quick Send feature that allows anyone to upload a document and send it for electronic signature without creating an account. This Fair Use Policy exists to ensure that our computing resources remain available and performant for all users.

Each Quick Send request involves significant server-side processing, including document conversion, PDF rendering, signature field placement, email delivery, and secure storage on AWS. These operations consume computing, bandwidth, and storage resources that we provide at no cost to Quick Send users.

2. Usage Limits

To protect the availability and quality of the service for everyone, Quick Send usage is subject to a rate limit per IP address. The current limit is displayed when you use the Quick Send feature and may be adjusted over time based on system capacity.

This limit applies to document sending and document conversion operations via Quick Send. It does not apply to authenticated users with a VivoSign account (Free, Starter, Team, or Enterprise plans), who enjoy unlimited document sending.

3. Why Limits Exist

Every document you send through Quick Send triggers a chain of server-side operations:

These resources cost real money to operate. Rate limiting ensures that no single user consumes a disproportionate share of resources, keeping the service fast and free for everyone.

4. Remove the Limit

If you need to send more documents than the Quick Send limit allows, we recommend creating a free VivoSign account. All VivoSign plans — including the Free plan — offer unlimited document sending with no per-envelope fees.

With a VivoSign account you also get access to additional features such as document templates, tracking, audit logs, and more. Create your free account here, or view our pricing plans for premium features like SMS notifications, custom branding, and team collaboration.

5. Abuse

Attempts to circumvent rate limits (e.g., rotating IP addresses, automated scripting, or using proxy networks) are a violation of our Terms of Service and may result in permanent blocking of the offending IP addresses.
